Chalet Kochau by Peter Pichler, Kitzbühel, Austria
Chalet Kochau offers a bold reinterpretation of the local vernacular architecture. Its structure elegantly ascends from the ground floor to the roof, featuring a series of five pillars that evolve into Y-shaped beams. This design choice not only serves a structural purpose but also lends a sculptural beauty to the residence. The Chalet's innovative design places the living area under the roof, immersing inhabitants in the panoramic mountain scenery. Below, the sleeping quarters and wellness facilities offer direct access to an outdoor pool and garden. Echoing the traditional architecture of Kitzbühel, the villa includes a wrap-around balcony and pitched roof overhangs.
