Stockholm, Sweden is a city of new, cutting-edge, and innovative architecture and engineering.
Easily the city's most distinguishable building is the Stockholm Globe Arena, now known as the Ericsson Globe. It is essentially an enormous white sphere that houses many of Stockholm's sporting events, concerts, and important speakers. The stadium opened in 1989 and was originally used primarily for ice hockey games, which continue to account for a large portion of its use.
