Actually, Doha is not the city it used to be before, as it has also lost its reputation to be one of the most boring capital cities in the world.



Instead, it has joined the construction boom of some other Persian Gulf cities, testified by the tall cranes surrounding many buildings of its skyline.

Certainly, many areas of the old parts of town are still the same as a decade ago, but works are under way to modernize large parts of the capital city of Qatar. Some of these works take place on the southern side of Doha Bay, but by far most modern architecture is being constructed on the northern side. This results in an impressive skyline which is being given shape day after day.
