The Chicago Spire was a supertall skyscraper project in Chicago that was abandoned in 2008 with only its foundation work completed.
The building was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and was being developed by St Patrick's Athletic owner Garrett Kelleher of Shelbourne Development Group, Inc. At its planned height of 2,000 feet (610 m) and with 150 floors, it would have become the second tallest building in the world, surpassed only by the Burj Khalifa.
