People's Daily New Headquarters was designed by Nanjing-based Architect/Professor Zhou Qi from Southeast University 's Architectural Design Faculty.

The façade of the People's Daily new headquarters has almost been finished on January 20, 2014. According to Zhou Qi, professor of Southeast University Architecture School and designer of the building, the building's surface will have two layers. The golden inner layer is made up of aluminum alloy and rock wool, used for thermal insulation and rainproof. And the outer layer is made up of silver colored glass rods.
