Neighbourhood of creativity and knowledge, Toulon, France
French Architects Corinne Vezzoni have won a competition to design a whole district in Toulon in the South of France. Located in the very centre of the city of Toulon, the district transformation of the former hospital into a ‘neighbourhood of creativity and knowledge’ aims to carry the development of the city through a program of 15,500 sq m on three hectares dedicated to creativity and knowledge. Five new locations for higher education and administration will be erected in the middle of a wide garden - called Alexandre 1er - which will be improved, opened up to the surrounding environment and extended.
