Kohn Architecture is looking for a dedicated all around Designer / Architect with 5-10 years of experience. We are a busy small firm with a wide variety of projects. Experience working in New York City, and a working knowledge of the NYC building code and zoning resolution is a must. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, well organized person who likes a challenge. Who is also a good communicator.

Our projects are mix of commercial, retail, building conversions, high end residential and multiple dwelling apartment renovations. Good design skills are very important.

The position’s main responsibilities include: Design, AutoCAD drafting of construction and DOB filing sets, coordination of projects, communication with clients, contractors, and consultants. We also do some filing of DOB documents online, so experience with the DOB filing process is a major plus.

Our office is located on Union Square in New York City. A great area to work!

Candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch up, Photoshop, 3-D modeling software, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Due to continued growth we are currently looking for talented Architects, Part II Architectural Assistants and experienced Technologists. Ideal candidates will have at least two years’ experience working on small to medium scale UK based projects through all the RIBA Plan of Work stages.

The following skills and experience are desirable:

- Ability to work through multiple projects at multiple work stages.
- Able to work as a part of a team meeting challenging deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- A well rounded understanding and ability to demonstrate good design.
- Good understanding of current UK planning guidance and legislation.
- A sound understanding of UK building regulations.
- Auto CAD.
- Fluent.
- Revit and Adobe Creative Suite useful but not essential.
