Gunn Landscape Architecture is seeking a Landscape Designer and Project Manager with experience in designing large residential estates. GLA is a boutique landscape architectural firm specializing in residential projects ranging from rooftop gardens to estate master-planning in New York City, Long Island and the surrounding areas. This is a full time position in a growing firm. Salary is based on qualifications and experience, with benefits offered after an introductory period.

Responsibilities include:

- Design and project management of residential projects located primarily in Long Island.
- Supporting the development of designs and detailing as needed, including all presentation materials, schematic design, planting plans and construction drawings.
- Project coordination, construction oversight and administration.
- Coordination between principal, client, contractors and other designers.
- Supporting the development of designs and detailing as needed.
- Developing multiple projects methodically while prioritizing deadlines.
- Working with minimum supervision in a fast-paced creative environment.

Desired Skills & Experience:

- Bachelor’s or Masters in Landscape Architecture required.
- Outstanding design and presentation skills, with an eye for details.
- Strong understanding of hardscape, grading, irrigation, and horticulture a must.
- Understanding and appreciation for Gunn’s specific design aesthetic.
- Excellent graphic and technical drawing skills.
- Excellent AutoCAD and SketchUp skills a must, knowledge of Land F/X is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
- Thoroughness and accuracy in executing construction documents, contracts and drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor (and a sense of humor).
- NYS Driver’s license a plus.

Selected candidate will work on retail projects located throughout U.S. and Canada. Responsibilities include design drawings, construction drawings, construction administration, site surveys, and communication with clients/engineers/contractors.
