MKA is an award winning, small architecture firm based in New York (Soho). Our work includes new construction, renovation and historic restoration, focusing on cultural institutions with programs that include performing arts spaces, theaters, amphitheaters, studios, rehearsal facilities, classrooms, offices, and support facilities. We are seeking a versatile Project Architect who is eager to design, work with consultants, meet with clients and see projects through construction.

Qualified candidates will have:

- Bachelor or Masters of Architecture. Architectural license a plus.
- Minimum 4 years relevant US based professional experience with new construction and renovation projects. Experience with cultural or performing arts projects is a plus, but not a pre-requisite.
- Strong design and technical skills. Ability to solve problems, develop creative design concepts, and translate them into well-coordinated and executed construction documents. Fluency with AutoCAD and familiarity with 3D modeling and rendering in SketchUp and/or Rhino.
- Strong graphic presentation skills. Ability to communicate design ideas graphically, create planning diagrams and presentation drawings. Fluency with the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Strong, articulate verbal and written communication skills.
- Focused and well-organized work ethic, with excellent time management skills.
- Flexibility; must be a team player that can handle multiple assignments.
- Basic knowledge of NYC Building Codes, Zoning, LEED is a plus.
- US citizenship or authorization to work in the US.
