We are recruiting a Project Architect and an Architectural Assistant to work full time on a wide range of high quality residential, office and educational buildings.

Current projects include a 15 storey landmark university building comprising enterprise suites, VIP accommodation and 180 student studios; a renewable housing project consisting of 80 highly sustainable homes in Birmingham's urban core; 150 luxury apartments above a Grade II listed bank on the South Coast; a 10,000 square foot commercial development in Digbeth and a 100,000 square foot healthcare and research & development park in the East Midlands.

Role & Responsibilities

- Managing projects from inception to completion.
- Development of design options for discussion with internal & external design teams.
- Ensure designs and details conform to UK Building Regulations.
- Preparation & submission of pre-planning, planning and building regulation applications.

Required Skills & Experience

- Part III qualification and ARB registration.
- Good balance between design & technical ability.
- 3-5 years post qualification UK work experience with full proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience leading projects through all RIBA stages (1-7).
- Ability to take initiative, work autonomously and build strong relationships both internally & externally.
- Full driving licence.

RMW architecture & interiors, a 70+ person design practice with studios in Sacramento, San Francisco, and San Jose, is seeking an intermediate-level architectural designer to work on a variety of commercial office and industrial projects in our Sacramento studio.

As an Intermediate Architectural Designer, you will develop planning and creative-design concepts for projects, directing development of the client’s program and guiding the design so that it meets project requirements. You will be responsible for preparing presentation, design drawings and design details. You will coordinate with the Project Manager on program, budget, and schedule for timely and appropriate design development.

This position requires the ability to work independently on design projects, capably evaluating, selecting, and applying high-level architectural techniques, procedures and criteria, and using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. You will coordinate consultants’ work during design phases and consult manufacturers to evaluate and select materials and finishes.

Ideally, you will

- Be a licensed architect, or working toward licensure, with a professional degree or recognized equivalent.
- Have 5-7 year of experience working on medium-sized projects of 15,000 SF+ with budgets of $2-10 million in construction.
- Be able to demonstrate experience coordinating project resources, including project consultants.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and SketchUp.
- Experience in production of construction documents/architecture design. Knowledge in design development is preferred.
- Be a problem-solver with a strong sense of design, color, and materials.
- Have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and to work within a team structure.
- Demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Have a positive attitude with strong aptitude for learning.
