- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture required, Master’s Degree in Architecture preferred.
- Professional Licensure required.
- Minimum work experience 10 plus years.
- Must have had experience in all phases of project design and documentation.
- Demonstrate competent project leadership as well as have excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Position requires relevant project experience in complex, program driven commercial, urban high-rises, resorts and academic projects.
- Candidate must demonstrate experience with projects ranging from $50 - $150 million USD.
- Must have excellent technical skills, familiarity with building codes, and ADA requirements, and be well versed in DD -- CD detailing.
- Position requires demonstrated good design sensibilities, graphic skills, hand drawn or digital media.
- Be fully proficient in AutoCAD and have proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Leed AP is desirable.

This is a newly created role in our dynamic and expanding New York studio. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated designer seeking career growth and opportunity. The role will report to the Interiors Principal and work collaboratively across the studio on local, regional and global projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Designs innovative architectural concepts in direct response to unique user, programmatic, environmental and cultural contexts.
- Support the Design Principal in developing relationships, and creating project opportunities. Involved in bid responses and interviews and importantly strong track record in client relationships Responsible for driving the exceptional design quality of the project design by collaboration with the project team.
- Confers with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project development.
- Guides and encourages the development of other staff. Contribute to studio, regional and global collaboration to grow the workplace interiors sector.
- Participates in marketing and business development.

Qualifications:

- Completion of a professional degree program.
- Ten or more years of experience and progressive responsibilities in all phases of architecture and substantial experience in the innovative design of complex, small and large-scale workplace projects in the US, San Francisco experience is desired.
- High level skills and experience in conceptual design phases and instigation of projects including high quality design research, sketching, illustration and communication of concepts.
- Expertise in advanced 3D software and programming including Revit, 3DS Max, Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite Demonstrated thorough knowledge of architectural design, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques, coordination of consultants and costs.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit with exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
