Robbins Architecture is design oriented a residential architectural firm located across from the Hubbard Woods train station in Winnetka, Illinois. We are looking for a full time Project Architect to join our team with 6+ years of experience.

General:

- Responsible for designing and managing a project with some support and oversight from senior staff. Oversees project team to prepare a complete set of architectural drawings to communicate the design for bid, permit and construction. Project role would require both design, technical and managerial skills.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and assist in the preparation of architectural drawings with the understanding of the design goals, budget and schedule.
- Direct and oversee supporting staff on the team.
- Coordinate the drawings and the design with consultants.
- Solid understanding how to technically detail the design as well as the ability to research solutions to resolve various complexities that arise.
- Prepare general specifications appropriate for the project.
- Prepare work schedules with senior staff, organize team work effort and monitor time spend on tasks.
- Research local codes associated with the project, but should be familiar with national residential codes.
- Communicate with team, consultants, supervisors and client as needed to properly manage the project.
- Manage the construction administration including meeting notes, photo documentation, shop drawing review and coordination.

Skills Needed:

- Masters in Architecture or 5 year Bachelors of Architecture Degree.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Experience in MS Office, Work and Excel.
- An ideal candidate would have a solid understanding of high end residential design, products, detailing and construction.
- Highly personable and able to work with team members, clients and consultants in a positive and professional manor.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills is essential.
