We are looking for an Architect with good detailing and design skills and a minimum of 5 years experience working in the UK to join our team working on a mixture of exciting projects across different sectors in both the UK and Europe.

The practice has a mixed portfolio of current projects including Education, Retail and Residential. Experience in one or all of these sectors is required

- Essential skills or experience: AutoCAD.
- Desirable skills: Sketchup, NBS Specification Writer and Photoshop.
- Desirable experience: Project running on site, Planning submissions, knowledge of Building Regulations and robust detailing skills.

John Lum Architecture is a recognized architecture practice located in the Mission District of San Francisco. Our work encompasses a variety of residential projects including remodels, new construction, and commercial interiors with an emphasis on green design. The ideal candidate will be a polished professional with a minimum of 3-5 years of architectural experience, a strong design aesthetic, and a proven track record for managing a project from inception to completion. Duties will include assistance with all phases of project delivery including: design, construction documentation, permitting and entitlements, bidding/negotiation, construction administration, scheduling, and client management.

The position requires a self-motivated, organized individual with an ability to work independently. Our firm is small enough so that multiple projects are assigned to each individual or to small teams, ensuring a well rounded and fulfilling work experience.

Qualifications:

- Vectorworks 2013 (preferred, but not required).
- Adobe Suite.
- Rhino 5.
- Working knowledge of CA Building Code.
- Accredited Architectural Degree.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in handling clients and project delivery.
- Experience in Type V construction/residential construction documents/detailing/construction administration.
