Werner Sobek New York is seeking a Façade Designer with 4-6 years of experience to join the Façade design team at their Soho office. The job tasks will range from assisting the Design team developing building envelope schemes, to reviewing the Contractors' façade construction details in order to deliver exciting facade concepts.

Role and responsibilities:

- Meet with the Design Team and contribute in the development of facade systems. These will include steel and glass systems, aluminum curtain walls, as well as complex geometry cladding in stone, GRC or GRP.
- Deliver reports, spreadsheets, drawings, 3D models and specifications to the agreed project schedule.
- Perform structural, solar and thermal analysis on facade solutions as required.
- Provide comments and find alternative solutions on the Design Team and Contractor's submittals as requested.
- Attend prototype testing and site inspections and produce feedback reports.

Job requirements:

- Typically at least 4-6 of years of design or engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years working specifically as a façade designer or engineer.
- Excellent skills in façade detailing and design.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling and analysis software, including Autocad, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Therm, Ecotect, Mepla. Experience using other packages such us Sofistik, Catia, Digital Project and/or Revit is ideal and preferred, but not required.
- Design experience using a variety of International Standards and Building codes.
- Degree in Architecture, Architectural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, with focus on structures or facades.
- Professional license preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Interpersonal and organizational skills.
