Well-established midsize NYC architectural firm seeks talented intermediate architect with 7+years work experience. The firm is currently working on a number of diverse projects types including institutional, educational and sports related projects.

Skills and qualifications:

- Professional degree.
- Successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented individuals with excellent communication and administrative abilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe CS and Office Suite is required. Familiarity with Revit a plus.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team on all phases of a project.
- The ability to work with short time frames and meet deadlines a must.
- Experience in sustainable design is a plus.
- Legal authorization to work in the US mandatory.

John Cooper Architecture is a small young practice with experienced leadership and exciting work in the healthcare and research sectors. Our office is in Waterloo, London and our projects are currently in the UK and abroad. We are looking for two committed and talented architects or experienced Part 2 students who want to develop their skills and take on new responsibilities within the context of a small company in which everyone lends a hand when the need arises. We are committed to design excellence and need strong designers with excellent graphic presentational skills who also know how to put buildings together. Work would commence in January.

Experience of working on large scale projects (£50 million +) is an advantage but not essential. However, a portfolio of good design work and a demonstrable experience of working in Revit and Autocad and an ability to create CGI images of quality – in sketch and final presentation form - is essential. An ability to sketch, draw and create diagrams by hand is advantageous. If you can write well (proposals, reports and submissions etc) and converse with clients and fellow professionals confidently and fluently so much the better.
