Elemental Architecture is a full service firm with a diverse range of projects seeking a junior/intermediate architect for construction administration and involvement in all phases of design. Qualified candidates will possess a professional degree in Architecture and have worked 3-7 years in an architectural office, including on-site, construction administration experience. We are looking for a self-motivated, detail oriented, and well organized person to contribute to and grow with our team.

Job responsibilities include developing designs and technical solutions through all phases of a project, production of construction documents, consultant coordination, contact with clients, and on-site construction review & administration.

Requirements include: strong construction document skills, construction administration experience, technical proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office programs; exceptional communications skills, both written and spoken; and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Currently, we are seeking to hire an Architectural Designer with solid design & communication skills.

Responsibilities:

- Work together with architectural design teams on projects.
- Collaborate on projects, including programming client needs, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction drawings and construction administration.
- Develop design concepts and generate construction documents.
- Work with interior designers in selection of furniture systems and specifications.
- Support project team coordination for plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction.
- Work with consultants to meet overall project objectives.
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.
- Working within given fees and contracts for projects.
- Time management to stay on schedule and within budgets.
- Understands design vision. Works to implement design based upon contractual agreement with client.
- Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client and team relationships.
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs.
- Participate in business development and marketing efforts.

Qualifications:

- 5 to 7 years of experience as an architectural designer, with a focus on commercial, technology or healthcare interiors.
- Working knowledge of the design process, including compiling a set of construction drawings.
- Outstanding conceptual 3 dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills.
- Computer skills to include Revit or similar BIM software and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, in Design and Sketch Up important.
- Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills.
- Bachelors degree in Architecture from an American accredited school.
- Should currently live in the NYC metro area.

The successful candidate must be able to work well as part of a design team, make immediate contributions and take initiative to complete work.
