Planning Design Practice is seeking to recruit an architect/architectural technologist to join our highly regarded town planning and architectural design team.

The successful candidate will lead the architectural and design department based at our Derby office. He/she will work directly with clients and work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

We are seeking a person who is confident and able to put forward innovate and exciting ideas in a clear and versatile way to solve architectural problems and create solutions, inspiring clients and the company.

The jobholder will prepare detailed proposals for buildings and structures for delivery on the ground, developing an architectural language that presents a high standard in architecture.

This role is an opportunity to lead a wide range of rural and urban projects and to build the company’s architectural profile; building a business within a business in response to a constant flow of work.

The post holder will report direct to the company Directors. As a small but fast growing company Planning Design Practice encourages staff involvement in its growth and development. The successful candidate will be given full support, the resources necessary to build the role and any further training that may be required.

- Professional architecture degree, B.Arch or higher.
- 1 – 3 years design and construction experience preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D StudioMax, Adobe Photoshop & InDesign and MS Office.
- Ability to effectively communicate with design team.
- Ability to efficiently prepare digital renderings and construction documents.

Responsibilities:

- Produce drawings for all design phases, conceptual design through construction documents.
- Produce materials for client presentations.
- Research manufacturers' materials, systems and specifications.
- Coordinate design with all consultants, including renderers, model builders and engineers.
