OBR Open Building Research are currently expanding their offices in the UK and Italy and are looking for a full-time Studio Assistant to join their team in London. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to get hands-on experience on a wide range of architectural projects and design phases, including construction site. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual with strong design skills, good technical knowledge, good model making skills). The native English speaker candidate should have previous experience in UK planning, job running, contract administrative skills as well as ability to coordinate, detail, specify and manage contract information packages.
There is great opportunity, for the right candidate, to join an innovative design led team and to grow within the practice. The contract is for a full-time position and remuneration will be commensurate with experience and ability.

MacDonald Architects, specializing in bridge design and mixed-use housing, is looking for another outstanding staff member. We are looking for a team player that will assist in a variety of key roles on multiple projects, including everything from producing initial concept sketches to photorealistic renderings to construction drawings, coordinating schedules and documents, and managing correspondence for various projects as an intermediary between our in-house team and various project partners (engineers, contractors, subs, etc). Applicant should be organized, have a good sense of humor, and be able to juggle multiple projects and tasks.
The applicant must have a strong portfolio and be willing to work on a variety of projects simultaneously. Good leadership, communication and people skills are required. Portfolios should be shown at interview.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Architecture, or similar design background.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an architectural office environment.
- Experience in project and construction phases.
- Ability to produce working drawings with a CAD or, better yet, a BIM program.
- Proficient in Sketchup, Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with engineers and engineering drawings a plus.
- Experience with V-Ray rendering software a plus.
- Expert model makers a plus.
