Leading Westchester County architectural firm is seeking an Interior Designer or an Interior Architect with a passion for high quality design and a positive, collaborative work style. The ideal candidate should be an organized, self-starter who will assist architectural project teams on a wide variety of academic, cultural, and institutional commissions.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple interior design projects efficiently and working as a team member on multiple project teams.
- Building strong client relationships.
- Participating in programming and pre-planning design studies.
- Developing and executing design solutions including space planning, design development, construction documents and detailing for interior architecture projects.
- Coordinating drawings and providing technical input finish plans, elevations, and schedules.
- Maintaining interiors library, meeting with and managing current and prospective vendors.
- Developing and coordinating complete interior design packages including furniture, and finish materials.
- Performing site inspections, reviewing shop drawings and material submittals, and providing construction oversight of furniture installations.
- Reviewing leed requirements, and providing assistance with required documentation.
- Mentoring /coaching support staff.

Candidates must have a degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited institution, and should have a minimum of three years of related experience. Must be CAD proficient, and have experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
Workshop / APD is a design firm specializing in both luxury home design and high-end commercial development. We actively leverage our experience to solve design challenges with innovative solutions that incorporate modern ideals/methods toward a signature aesthetic. We are currently seeking a full-time Architectural Designer with 3-5 years’ experience minimum.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Design of residential projects (with single family and multifamily experience).
- Involvement in all phases of the design / documentation.
- Computer modeling and rendering.
- Construction document preparation.
Applicants should have previous residential experience and demonstrate proficient knowledge of multi-family projects. Candidates should also demonstrate good digital modeling and rendering abilities and competent use of all architectural design programs.
Qualifications:
- Professional Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch).
- Minimum of 3 years high-end architectural design experience (should be able to showcase finished/built work).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2008 or higher), 3-D Studio Max and all Adobe programs.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Knowledge of wood frame construction.
- Good communications skills.
- Well organized.
- Ability to produce their portfolio of work.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
