We are currently looking for as Senior Design Architect to join our Washington, DC Office.
Position summary:
The Senior Design Architect is a leadership role and will be in charge of the project design on significant assignments and see projects through to completion. The Senior Design Architect will lead design concept development while working within a collaborative and creative studio environment throughout. The Senior Design Architect may lead multiple assignments at a time, while serving as a design mentor to other projects and junior staff within the studio and across the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process on projects from concepts to completion of construction.
- Interface and collaborate with principals in the pursuit of new work and development and delivery of projects.
- Mentor and coach junior staff team members on design and project development.
- Contribute to the culture of firm-wide research and exploration in areas of building technology and design process.
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Fifteen to twenty years of experience in a design role.
- Experience with Higher Education, Urban and Mixed-Use clients and building types.
- Experience with Urban Design and Urban Planning.
- Exceptional client interface and relationship building skills.
- Strong project leadership skills and ability to mentor junior staff.
- Business Development skills and interest.
- Strong technical skills in developing buildings through design development or beyond.
- Project Management experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe suite, and Sketch-up.
- Solid MS office and Deltek abilities.
- Knowledge of 3-d modeling software helpful.
