The Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for project implementation from conceptual design through construction administration, including coordination with clients. The lean arch Studio covers multiple practice areas including high-end residential and commercial renovation projects. The studio is a collaborative environment that fosters a synergetic design process and encourages designers of all levels within the office to actively contribute creative ideas. The ideal candidate would have superb organizational skills, good design sense, perseverance and a strong work ethic.
Job responsibilities:
- Leads and manages a project team in development of the technical design and the preparation of interior design and construction documents including drawings and specifications.
- Strategize and collaborate with a project team to create interior design solutions in high end residential and commercial renovation projects.
- Supervises assigned staff, administers work, monitors workloads and performs duties towards an established schedule.
- Coordinates with a Project Manager or Principal in Charge for a smooth execution of the project.
- Participate in and prepare for interviews and presentations.
- Develop creative solutions and lead design Charrettes.
- Lead and participate in production of the documents.
- Interior specification coordination.
- Coordinate all trades related to interior building design while monitoring drawings for technical accuracy.
- Mentor interior design staff.
- FF&E selection, specifications and procurement.
- Meet and communicate with clients regarding their project in detail.
- Follows established standards for project production and review.
Key skills:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Interior Design or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 to 10 years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams. Prior experience on high-end residential and commercial renovation projects is preferred.
- Ability to develop, communicate and present design concepts to their team and clients.
- Strong communication skills and excellent graphic presentation skills.
- Experience detailing and preparing construction documentation.
- Experience with furniture selection and procurement.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Must be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in Sketchup and 3Ds Max a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, 3Ds Max, Sketchup, InDesign and other related design software is a plus.
- Experience in public projects a plus.
- NCIDQ accreditation is required.
- Leed accreditation is a plus.
- Demonstrated team leadership, organization and strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Construction Administration phase experience (preferred).
