James Wagman Architect, an award-winning New York City architecture firm, is seeking a talented, motivated architect with 1-3 years of professional experience to work with us on a full-time permanent basis. The work will consist of design and detailing of high end residential homes. An interest and knowledge of green building practices, sustainability, and Passive House standards is a plus.
The candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Experience in detailing ground-up residential-single family new construction and/or high end residential apartments/ town homes.
- Experience organizing & assembling construction documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively with consultants, clients, and contractors; experience coordinating work of consulting engineers.
- Strong communication, organizational and collaborative skills.
- General knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, etc.
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced and rigorous environment.

We are a medium sized architectural practice of over 20 people, with a large portfolio of secured work within the logistics, commercial, education and leisure sectors, at all stages of development.
The majority of projects are across the Midlands, within an hour of the office. Our offices are in a village with plenty of parking and only 5 minutes from both local services and Junction 15 of the M1. We provide a stimulating workload within a friendly, balanced working environment.
Due to our diverse and expanding portfolio of work we need architects and technicians of varying experience and abilities. Our projects vary greatly in type and size so there are opportunities to work on both large scale projects within a team and smaller scale projects working more autonomously.
Successful applicants will need to demonstrate:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working, in UK Architectural practice.
- Experience in producing tender and construction packages within varied D+B procurement routes.
- Ability to deal with planning applications and have a good knowledge of current building legislation.
- Skills in design management, presentation, and report writing.
We use AutoCad and Sketchup, and experience of Revit would be desirable as an increasing number of our projects are now using BIM.
