05/03/2015To accommodate an expanding number of cultural, hospitality and commercial projects, PARC seeking Architects (5+ years experience) to join our dynamic and highly focused teams. Individuals will work within a team of talented and motivated colleagues to explore innovative design solutions and challenge preconceptions while working closely with PARC’s leadership in a fast-paced and extremely collaborative environment.
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- 5+ years professional work experience in all phases of project design, documentation, and construction administration.
- Experience in Retail and Hospitality in the U.S. and internationally.
- Strong knowledge of architectural practice and construction, and experience with design development and construction detailing, including participation in preparation of comprehensive and coordinated design development sets and data.
- Ability to execute beautiful presentations (physical models, drawings, diagrams, renders) within a rapid project schedule.
- Exceptional facility with Rhino, AutoCAD, VRay and Adobe CS.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, other architects, consultants, and contractors.
- An entrepreneurial, confident, collaborative, and hands-on attitude.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in design teams.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; French and/or German is very beneficial but not mandatory.
- Professional Degree in Architecture.

Job description:
The ideal candidate will be capable of assisting senior designers with development of design solutions, researching of finishes, textiles, fixtures, furniture, maintaining resource materials, developing material transition details, and performing site surveys. Candidates should have prior exposure to interior design specifications, code required calculation methods, and industry standards.
Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate experience in any of the following project types:
- Retail – Apparel, Beauty, Fitness, and Salon.
- Residential – Single-family Residential, Multi-family Residential, Affordable Housing.
- Commercial – Office, Academic Space.
Candidates should demonstrate the following personal skills:
- Work efficiently and effectively in a highly creative and disciplined environment through strong communication, organizational and collaborative skills.
- Manage internal and external deadlines through personal time management.
- Define and solve complex problems, complete tasks accurately with a strong attention to detail.
- Show an interest in sustainability and client satisfaction.

Candidates should demonstrate the following technical skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCad, SketchUp and 3D rendering software such as V-ray.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, and Bridge.
- Moderate level of graphic communication skills such as handsketching case work, vignette, hand coloring, rendering, texture mapping, interior drawings and area take offs.
- NCIDQ is a plus.
Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter, resume and at least five (5) work samples (5 MB maximum) of the candidate's academic and professional technical and design experience (with a strong emphasis on material and furniture presentation) in a bound PDF (no multiple files, please).
