Senior Job Running Architect

Claridge Architects is a fast-paced, emerging Practice with an international character.

We are currently looking for a talented and enthusiastic senior job running Architect with around 2-3 years post Part III experience. The role offers excellent opportunities for career progression.

Applicants should combine demonstrable design and communication skills with proven technical knowledge and experience of taking projects through to completion.

Essential skills / qualities required:

- Experience of working on residential projects in the UK.
- Ability to drive the delivery of the project, being client facing and managing a small team of Architectural Assistants.
- Full understanding of project requirements from concept through to planning, tender and construction stages.
- Ability to manage the time and workflow of project efficiently.
- Sound knowledge of UK Building Regulations.

Additional advantageous skills:

- NBS specification.
- London Housing Design Guide.
- Vectorworks.
- SketchUp.
- Rhino or other 3D software (e.g. 3DMax).
- Bream.
- Robust Details.
- Accredited Details.
- Code for Sustainable Homes.

Personal qualities

The successful candidates will be confident, friendly and efficient. They are able to work both independently as well as part of a dynamic and energetic team. Our office is a social one, so having a great personality is key.

The individual selected for this opportunity will be working with national healthcare clients on projects of varying size and scope, with the opportunity to work with a team dedicated to advancing breakthrough ideas through design. The types of projects can cover the full spectrum of healthcare related facilities – Acute Care/specialty centers, clinics, and elder care. This position will require a team member that leads with a positive attitude and has the capacity to thrive in a highly ambitious and entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities include:

- Lead the preparation of documents by the design team for obtaining all required state and local permits. Lead execution of subsequent agency reviews.
- Lead the coordination of the design team.
- Lead the coordination of internal and external consultants.
- Lead the coordination of medical equipment and building systems.
- Apply problem solving skills in coordination with contractors, designers, consultants, clients and end users.
- Manage the preparation of specifications.
- Provide construction administration services.
- Provide quality control.
- Mentor other team members in their development.

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Acute Care design and documentation.
- Architectural license required.
- Strong Autodesk Revit proficiency.
- Thorough knowledge of architectural design, detailing, codes, and building material characteristics.
- Thorough understanding of industry standards and building codes, including MEP design and medical equipment requirements.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple team members, consultant groups and stakeholders.
- Ability to understand the client and various stakeholders’ vision and key factors for project success.
- Ability to travel as projects require.
- High level of leadership skills, as well as clear and effective communication skills.
- DHSR experience preferred.
