KDF Architecture, a Yakima, Washington firm, is looking for an Architect who is skilled in Revit and who has 5 or more years’ experience in preparing construction documents. Knowledge of building systems and building codes essential.

Requirements: Architectural degree required; license preferred. Five plus years recent experience (after degree earned) in an architectural firm working on educational, healthcare, or commercial projects in a team environment mandatory.
Skills and Expertise: Proficiency in Revit vital (recent versions). This is why we want you! Advanced AutoCAD user. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with 3D rendering and/or SketchUp (or comparable) is a plus.
Duties dependent on qualifications: Candidates will have a wide range of opportunities for professional growth. Working with the design team under a Project Manager, the candidate will be instrumental in preparing documents, specifications, elevations, and details for all phases primarily using Revit. AutoCAD may also be used at times. You will participate in designing and planning healthcare, commercial, residential, or educational buildings. May assist with consultant coordination. Construction phase responsibilities may include addendums, RFI's, on-site construction observation, change orders and other duties as required.

Our client is an architectural consultant to Aspire Defence Capital Works and are responsible for the design development and delivery of new and altered offices and technical building accommodation for the British Army at Aldershot and on the Salisbury Plain. They are entering a new phase of this exciting challenge and are looking to expand our team again and we have vacancies for qualified Architects, Architectural Technologists and Architectural Technicians.
Thei team is based in the Aspire Defence Project Design Office in Aldershot, co-located with other members of the design team including structural engineers, building services consultants, master-planners and landscape architects. Your role will be to work within our detailed design team on the preparation of fully developed and co-ordinated detailed design drawings, schedules and specifications. You must be a team player and able to liaise and co-ordinate with all other members of the design and project team for our rolling programme of building designs. An additional part of our team’s role will be to provide support to the construction team by way of answering RFIs, addressing site questions and reviewing sub-contractors’ drawings.
You will ideally have ministry of defence, commercial office or industrial buildings experience.
This project will involve the design of approximately 115 new and altered buildings to varying degrees of complexity. Of necessity the project is heavily process driven as the team will be delivering, on average, one new set of detailed design information every week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to develop their skills in relatively straightforward building design within the defence sector. There will be opportunities to undertake site visits particularly in respect of the altered buildings and when construction works commence.
Qualifications and key skills:
- UK Qualified Architect/Architectural Technologist/Technician qualifications.
- At least 3 –5 years relevant architectural design experience, including the delivery of fully detailed construction information, and site co-ordination and liaison.
- Experience of large and comprehensive architectural projects.
- Good design skills with attention to detail and co-ordination.
- Excellent AutoCAD, preferably using ADT, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Good working knowledge of current Building Regulations.

The Aspire Defence Project Design Office is a large individual building within Mons Barracks at Aldershot, and will be occupied by approximately 100–150 designers, managers and procurement staff for this phase of the project.
The office is accessible by train/bus with a degree of walking. However, if you have your own transport this is likely to be preferable and there is free parking.
The Army dining facilities are available to us at very modest prices. Additionally, again for a small fee, we can use the Army sports facilities, including:- 50m swimming pool, fitness studio, squash courts, badminton courts, tennis courts and 5-aside football.
