Intermediate Designer
14/01/2015amphibianArc, founded in 1992, represents a philosophy of design and architecture that is informed by the idea of evolution in the formation of human spirit and habitation. amphibianArc has been designed a wide range of projects in both the U.S. and China.
amphibianArc is seeking an Intermediate Designer for our fast growing Los Angeles Office. The candidate should have 5-7 years’ professional experience primarily in commercial, retail, and/or institutional work. Prior working experience in Chinese project is preferred.
Required education and work experience:
- An MArch or BArch from an accredited architectural program.
- 5 - 7 year experience in all phases of design.
Required knowledge and skills:
- Knowledge of building systems, international building code and related knowledge for plan check.
- Knowledgeable in materials and methods of construction Knowledge of international project is a plus.
- Excellent design skills, and the ability to convey ideas well in various media.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD skills and Rhino, proficiency in Revit modeling skills is preferred.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented and adaptable to a fast paced environment.
- Salary commensurate with experience.

We are looking for Part III Architects and Part II Architectural Assistants to join our international team to apply their unique talents.
You must have a desire to advance your career, have excellent visualisation and presentation skills. International Masterplanning and Construction and Design experience, particularly in Africa would be an advantage. Fluency in French Technical Language is highly desirable, in order to liaise with French speaking Consultant team.
All candidates must be able to take on high-level responsibility with proficiency in Vectorworks on Mac, Sketch Up, as well as Adobe Suite, and MS Office. Experience in 3D modelling would be a benefit. Outstanding design, organisational, presentation and communication skills are needed.
Positions:
Part III Architects with experience (up to 10 years) of Project Architect as well as Urban Design.
Starting Salary £ 38,000.
Part II Architectural Assistants with minimum of 3 years, post Part II experience.
Starting salary £ 30,000.
