RIBA Part 3 Architect or Senior Architectural Technician required on full time basis to join our small but highly successful multi-disciplinary Practice based in Thame, Oxfordshire.
The driving force behind this Practice is to find and produce quality design solutions for every Client, in addition to achieving the required local authority permissions.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent design skills, essential for finding positive and effective solutions for each project.
- Have experience with CAD software, and be familiar with using Apple iMacs and Microsoft Office; Caddie 19 experience would be desirable as this is the CAD software currently used by the Practice.
- Have a keen interest in IT and in developing working practice to make the design process more efficient.
- Have good construction knowledge, and be up to date with the Code for Sustainable Homes and UK Building Regulation requirements.
- Have experience using Sketchup 3D modelling software and Promap.
- Be highly organised and motivated in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Be able to work efficiently and effectively with minimum supervision.
- Be able to liaise closely and co-operate with Clients and fellow Professionals during the design and planning application process.
- Have excellent Client interpersonal skills, and work well within a team.
- Have excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Be able to liaise with Local Authorities regarding planning/listed building consent applications.
- Have a full driving licence and own car for any site visits (mileage allowance paid for business use).

Skills:
- 4-7+ years of experience as an All-Around Architect, with extensive international experience during design development, construction documentation, and construction administration stages.
- Technical problem solver with the ability to work out architectural solutions through innovative thinking (documented through construction and shop drawings/details).
- Excellent knowledge of products, materials and construction methods, especially in Asia.
- Experience in China with a knowledge of Chinese building codes is preferred, but not required.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a continuous desire to both learn from and mentor others.
- Strong aesthetic sensibilities and design skills.
- Fluent English communication skills (reading and writing); fluent Mandarin communication skills (reading and writing) strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Some experience with Revit, Digital Projects or relevant BIM software a plus.
