The Project Architect will be responsible for project implementation from conceptual design through construction administration, including coordination with clients. The Lean Arch Studio covers multiple practice areas including high-end residential and commercial renovation projects. The studio is a collaborative environment that fosters a synergetic design process and encourages designers of all levels within the office to actively contribute creative ideas. The ideal candidate would have superb organizational skills, good design sense, perseverance and a strong work ethic.
Job responsibilities:
- Leads and manages a project team in development of the technical design and the preparation of architectural design and construction documents including drawings and specifications.
- Prepare permit compliant drawings for residential and commercial projects, including CBC, ADA, Zoning and Hillside regulations, etc.
- May work independently with the Principal or collaborate with a Project Designer for the design of the project.
- Supervises assigned staff, administers work, monitors workloads and performs duties towards an established schedule.
- Develops, checks and coordinates technical aspects of the project design and construction.
- Prepares the project code and zoning reviews at project conception and is familiar with the permitting process.
- Coordinates with a Project Manager or Principal in Charge for a smooth execution of the project.
- Participates in production of the documents.
- Coordinates the work of consultants.
- Meet and communicate with clients regarding their project in detail.
- Mentors junior staff.
- Follows established standards for project production and review.
Key skills:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
- Minimum 6 to 10 years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams. Prior experience on high-end residential and commercial renovation projects is preferred.
- Must possess high organization skills in graphic rendering – including Rhinoceros, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign – is required.
- Demonstrated capacity for design sensitivity.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Must be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in Sketchup and 3DsMax a plus.
- Strong technical and graphic communication skills.
- Demonstrated team leadership, organization and strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Construction Administration phase experience (preferred).
- Leed ap is preferred.
- License is preferred.
